Aug 17, 2017  I am having problems with the Drivers on my Windows 10 virtual slice on my MAC. I installed IAR 7.5.1 on Windows 10 in Parallels but can't get the driver to to work with IAR. I can read/write fine with TI Programming Flasher 2. I removed and re installed the drivers for USB and TI Emulator but still get this error.

The most commonly occurring error messages are:

• The program can't start because ftd2xx.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
• There was a problem starting ftd2xx.dll. The specified module could not be found.
• Error loading ftd2xx.dll. The specified module could not be found.
• The code execution cannot proceed because ftd2xx.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
• ftd2xx.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vender for support.

In the vast majority of cases, the solution is to properly reinstall ftd2xx.dll on your PC, to the Windows system folder. Alternatively, some programs, notably PC games, require that the DLL file is placed in the game/application installation folder.

ftd2xx is a simple python wrapper around the D2XX DLL from FTDI usingctypes. The API based on Pablo Bleyer Kocik’s d2xx extension.

Version 1.1.0 is compatible with Python 3. Please ensure you have FTDIdrivers installed or available where the linker looks for sharedlibraries (e.g., PATH on windows, LD_LIBRARY_PATH or standard librarydirectories on Linux)

I don’t have time to maintain this project, so I am looking for a maintainer.

There is another library by Ben Bass called pylibftdi that may fit your needs better.
