Return To Paradise review
Sam Sparro and charm of electro-funk
Sam Sparro released his debut self-titled album in 2008, and it proved to be in the spotlight of lovers of vivacious pop-compositions. Back then the long play was issued in April, just before the season that has to sound bright and positive. Summer is probably the best possible scene for Sparro’s music. Sam skillfully mixes several amazing genres at one time, including disco, rhythm and blues and many others. However the artist adds some amount of unique electronic elements. It must be mentioned that he does it with style, so the final result proves to be highly melodiousness, but not overloaded with a huge mass of digital effects and post processing. The point is that Sparro has been familiar with the music since his childhood, and with various kinds of music, actually. Thereby, the artist’s horizon lets him easily control few genres, and Sam’s records are great proofs of that. The long play of 2008 was well received by listeners, and in 2012 Sparro’s fans got a new portion of hit songs, collected and presented on the new album titled Return To Paradise.
Return To Paradise – excellent addition to the artist’s discography
The debut album Sam Sparro brought listeners back to the past, to the time, when disco and funk were running the show. It turned out that such a trip was highly enjoyed by many music lovers, and the long play actually became a ticket for Sparro’s future success. Four years later release of the artist’s new creation called Return To Paradise finally took place. Of course listeners were expecting to get the logical development of Sam Sparro ideas, and it seems that they got what they were eager to get. The record Return To Paradise is opened by a composition Paradise People, which is ideal variant for the introductory song. Since the very first notes and chords it becomes obvious that the style, which is so much loved by fans, did not disappear. The following track called Happiness is an amazing example of true disco energy. While you are listening to that song, it is impossible not to start tapping its rhythm. Well, dance floors, get ready! In fact, the entire long play can claim for the respected title of the hottest compilation of summer dance hits. Thus, for instance, Let the Love In with a powerful beat and rememberable melodies is a good and worthy addition to the general concept of Return To Paradise. Anyways, this studio attempt is completely amazing. Make sure to check out arrangements and vocals parts. Sparro is extremely good at finding new paths for his voice, so his every single new song is fascinating to listen to. For example, Shades of Grey is very distant from The Shallow End in the aspect of performance. Well, there is no place for boredom on that album, that is it!

Who said that disco is in the past?
Creativity that is sincere and that goes from the heart never follows trends of fashion. It just brings pure joy to the artists themselves and to their fans. Sam Sparro’s music is just like this. For some people it may seem that maybe disco had to remain somewhere in the past, but it is nothing of this sort. If there are some enthusiasts, who revive some style with a true passion and desire, then the style is not going to disappear, which is incredibly logical. This way, a little bit renewed disco with stylish elements of electronica appears on the world stage again, and it does it in a loud, audacious and confident way. There is no doubt that Return To Paradise is a total success. Moreover, it will not disappoint Sparro’s fans, which is a good sign, as soon as the artist’s second album proved to be not less original that the bright debut work, which means that Sam knows exactly what sound he needs and what style will help him to fulfill the potential. The artist writes interesting music and arrangements and his vocal skills are simply outstanding. So, what else do we need? If you appreciate original dance music and if you do not mind to remember (or to discover maybe) the genre of brilliant disco, then Return To Paradise will be a real treasure for you.
